Practitioner guide to working with First Nations Peoples
Presentation Description
This webinar features a diverse group from within the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder's (CEWH) science program, Flow-MER. They introduce an important new resource, the practitioner's guide to working with First Nations Peoples.
This resource was developed by the Knowledge Exchange Provider First Nations MER team and brings together links to key resources, practical guidelines, and relevant research papers to support respectful, informed, and effective engagement. It is designed to be a practical reference for all, in your day-to-day work. While there is something to learn for everyone, this resource and webinar will be particularly helpful for those who are new to the Program or working in this space for the first time.
Hosted by Geoff Reid (First Nations MER Lead) and presented by Lani Barnes (CEWH First Nations Partnerships), Zoe Sands (Lower Balonne River System Area-scale Project Cultural Advisor), Kerrie Saunders (Gwydir River System Area-scale Project Cultural Advisor), Uncle (Prof) Phil Duncan (Basin-scale Cultural Outcomes Theme Lead), Dr Kate Brandis (Lower Balonne River System Area-scale Project Lead), Dr Nikki Thurgate (Basin-scale Project Manager), and Dr Paul Frazier (Darling and Warrego River Systems & Gwydir River System Area-scale Project Director)
